MAI Community Lunches – Making AI and energy saving fun and educational!

The MAI Community Lunches bring local residents together in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. 🤗 We inspire and empower vulnerable families to take smart, achievable steps toward saving energy. Small actions, big impact 🫂💡

MAI-HOME is an Interreg project, a European initiative dedicated to helping (digitally) vulnerable groups save energy. We do this in two ways:

- through a user-friendly digital tool on smartphones, built on Telegram, an alternative to WhatsApp
- through a warm, accessible booklet

MAI-Community, not only ONE community

We like to organize our activities within and together communities. We deliberately keep things accessible, playful, and people-centered. Because the Telegram tool is AI-driven, we also discuss the opportunities and concerns surrounding AI and privacy during the sessions, in a way that is safe, understandable, and inviting, thanks to the support of SAAMO Limburg, which is also part of the project.

The booklet was developed by psychologists from the Open University and helps to raise awareness in a gentle, analog way and support positive behavioral change.

How it works:

We’ll stop by for an activity of about 2 hours, and as a thank-you, we’d love to treat our hosts to a delicious lunch, dinner, or snack, depending on the time of day. We’ll fully adapt to your schedule. So, for example, if you meet every third Wednesday of the month, we’d be happy to join you then.

The MAI Community Lunches bring people together in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We empower vulnerable families with practical tips and small actions that really help save energy. Check out these fun videos that capture the atmosphere perfectly.
