The Netherlands at a crossroads: energy from water as a strategic accelerator of the global energy transition.
Our future energy supply requires not only sustainability and flexibility, but also needs to be affordable, reliable and geopolitically robust. The Netherlands’ innovative water-based energy solutions offer the new cabinet a strategic opportunity to advance sustainable energy and reinforce Dutch leadership in the sector.
Expert roundtable discussion
Innovative renewable energy at sea and on the coast – for example wave energy, offshore solar energy and offshore energy storage – and inshore applications in deltas, including tidal energy and energy from fresh-salt or hot-cold variations, can make an essential contribution. These technologies complement offshore wind by supplying energy at times when solar and wind production are low, thus strengthening security of supply and grid stability.
Please join us at this roundtable discussion with parliamentary commission members and the Dutch Water Sector. How can we ensure that innovation in “energy from water” applications receives the attention it deserves in the context of the global energy transition.
