Wine route across borders
A physical connection will be created in the form of a long-distance route (the wine street), connecting the areas of Hageland, Haspengouw, Maasvallei and Mergelland/South Limburg into one large interconnected wine region with its different terroirs. It becomes a coherent story for the visitors (inhabitants, recreants and tourists). Where are the starting points of the Wijnstraat? What are interesting locations to discover the wine story? Which wineries can be visited? What is there to experience? ...
Six (heritage) sites, which are inextricably linked to the wine history, are converted into wine experience centers and serve as starting points (gateways) to further explore the Wijnstraat and the wine regions. These are the locations of the wine hubs:
