Sustainable wine tourism in the border region
Wine identity
In order to strategically support the further growth of our cross-border wine sector, it is important to align the offerings in these 4 regions with a common overall concept. To arrive at this strategy, we examine and list the unique DNA of the wine regions and stakeholders involved and what the commonalities are.
To do this, we cast a glance at the past, present and future for each wine region; Hageland, Haspengouw, Maasvallei and Mergelland/South Limburg. Through this data, common USPs and regional accent differences are determined and we can develop a common wine identity. Success or failure of the project is closely linked to governance (stakeholder cooperation). Therefore, we are working on a framework for the future so that after three years the project is integrated into the regular functioning of involved stakeholders.
