During the ninth “Beleving op de Bevelanden” networking event, entrepreneurs and stakeholders came together to discover new initiatives for the region.
On Monday, October 5, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from De Bevelanden gathered at De Buffer in Hoedekenskerke for the ninth “Beleving op de Bevelanden” networking event. The afternoon focused on collaboration, hospitality, and further strengthening the region’s narrative.
One of the highlights was the launch of the new culinary travel guide De Bevelanden and the five Zilt Zoet Zeeland routes. The guide and routes introduce visitors to the diversity of De Bevelanden, where land and water meet to produce a rich variety of local products. From fruit and other produce to oysters, mussels, and other briny flavors from the water, the routes connect the landscape, local entrepreneurs, and the region’s culinary identity.
The travel guide was presented by Gerard van Keeken of Merkwaardige Identiteit. The five new routes take visitors through different parts of North and South Beveland and combine cycling and exploration with local stories and flavors. The routes are now available online via the De Bevelanden regional portal.
In addition to the launch, attention was given to new resources for entrepreneurs. During a sneak preview, the “Zilt en Zoet op de Bevelanden” toolkit was presented. It offers entrepreneurs practical tools, such as a storytelling template and visual materials, to help them tell the story of their business and the region on their own. There was also a glimpse into the new “Hospitality in the Bevelanden” course, which aims to build a network of hosts and hostesses who can introduce visitors to the region in an authentic and welcoming way.
The afternoon concluded with a look ahead to future collaboration and a Beveland-style reception. With the new travel guide, routes, business toolkit, and hospitality program, efforts continue to build a recognizable and shared narrative for De Bevelanden.
