Business owners and staff from the tourism and leisure sector will explore the history, natural environment and hospitality of De Bevelanden.

The new ‘De Bevelanden Hospitality’ course will start in the autumn of 2026. The course is aimed at entrepreneurs and staff in the tourism and leisure sector who wish to deepen their knowledge of the region and introduce visitors to De Bevelanden in a personal and enthusiastic way.

Over the course of four mornings, various aspects of the region will be explored. Participants will delve into topics such as island culture and history, hospitality and storytelling, nature and landscape, and local produce and traditions. The course consists of a combination of lectures and excursions and takes place at various locations in De Bevelanden.

The course forms part of the development of a network of De Bevelanden Hostesses and Hosts. At the heart of this network is the sharing of knowledge, stories and tips about the region. Networking events, an inspirational tour and opportunities for further development are also organised.

The development of this hospitality initiative is partly made possible by the Interreg Flanders-Netherlands project (Be)Leefbare Schelde. The municipalities of Borsele, Goes, Kapelle, Noord-Beveland and Reimerswaal are collaborating on this project to strengthen the range of tourism and leisure activities on offer and to make the region more accessible to visitors.

The first series of courses will take place on 29 September, 6 October, 3 November and 17 November 2026.
