Zuid-Nederland en Vlaanderen zijn demografisch vergelijkbare gebieden. Beide zijn vergrijzende gebieden met relatief veel ouderen die steeds langer leven, minder bewegen en hierbij overgewicht en in toenemende mate gewrichtsslijtage ontwikkelen.

PhD Defense
Nazanin Daneshvarhashjin fended her PhD which was beautifully descibed by herself:
This achievement represents more than just the culmination of my PhD journey—it reflects a period of immense personal growth. I am profoundly thankful to my supervisor, Prof. Lennart Scheys, for his guidance, patience, and support, which have been fundamental to my development both as a researcher and as an individual.To my co-promotors, Prof.filip verhaegen, MD, PhD and Prof.Bernardo Innocenti for their support throughout this transformative journey and to the entire team at the Institute for Orthopaedic Research and Training (IORT).
